Pet Bereavement
I understand how difficult it is to cope with the loss of a beloved animal member of the family. I offer a specialised service with compassionate support to help you navigate this challenging time.

My name is Susan and I have shared my life with several animal family members/companions over the years. Sadly, this means I've also suffered their loss, each one of whom were individual with their own personality and quirks. It is because of this that I understand how difficult it can be. I also know that there can be healing from their loss too.

This is the reason I provide a personalised Counselling Service to help you process your grief and find healing in a safe and supportive way.

What to expect
I offer Person Centred individual Pet Bereavement counselling where you can expect a tailored approach designed to address your specific loss. I provide a safe and confidential environment where you can express your emotions, talk about your loss and work towards healing when able.

I am dedicated to help you navigate your grief at a pace that suits you to find healing after your loss. I understand the profound bond between animal family members /companions and their owners, they are not 'just pets' they are family. I am committed to providing support and understanding. I believe that sharing your life with your animal family creates an unconditional bond that can make it difficult to cope with when dealing with their loss. Every pet is unique and deserves to be remembered and honoured, and every pet owner deserves the time and space to grieve and heal from their loss.

The benefit of being a qualified counsellor enables me to work with clients for whom their pet loss brings back other losses from their past, animal or human. I can also help with other areas you may be struggling with such as anxiety, depression or relationship issues alongside your loss.

About me
The decision to specialise in Pet Bereavement came after the loss of my beloved dog Simba, I was devastated and sought counselling. I realised that whilst my counsellor was very nice and helpful to a degree, I felt she struggled at times to understand how upset I was at the loss of my dog. I recognised then there is a real need for Specialist Pet Bereavement Counsellors who really understand how it feels to lose a beloved animal member of the family or animal companion.

I am a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and have been in Private practice for eight years now. I also joined the Association of Pet Bereavement Counsellors when it was established due to its depth of understanding for Pet Bereavement.
